Inside this light-hearted and apparently harmless OVA about the life of an otaku salaryman lurks a Great Evil, which caused an entire staff of experienced fansubbers to lose their Professional Cool and go through more Release Candidates than any show in living memory. Was it the endless signs? The otaku in-jokes? Self-identification with our IT-pro-slash-otaku-nerd protagonist? Who knows what Evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows… and he’s not part of the scene anymore.

Edit: A last minute “fix” causes the second OP to play as black screen. In addition, a change in the MKV muxing tool makes the audio incompatible with mplayer. Finally, the release was built with ordered chapters, which makes playback on VLC or mplayer not work correctly for the second OP. The Curse of Otaryman continues. We’ve released a v2 torrent. Alternately, you update v1 to v2 with this patch.
