Two of the greatest personages in manga and anime cross paths in Lupin III vs Detective Conan, the latest of the highly rated Lupin III TV specials, which broke Japanese television ratings records when it aired in late March this year. The cunning and resourceful Arsène Lupin III, aided by his faithful gang of allies, sets his sights upon the one treasure which he has never been able to fully steal, while a royal conspiracy of the greatest magnitude is afoot in the background, reaching its tentacles into as far as Japan, beckoning the great detective Edogawa Conan to get involved. These two legendary figures soon collide in a characteristic myriad of action, mystery and yes, even comedy, which we are pleased to bring to you in association with the Detective Conan Translation Project. We drive headfirst into further annals of the Sengoku era, with the v2 of episode 1 (this time retaining all of the series’ historical context) and episode 2 of Sengoku Basara. The second episode brings us the famous Battle of Okehazama, which heralded the grand entrance of the Devil King of Owari, Oda Nobunaga, and signaled the demise of Imagawa Yoshimoto, one of the most prominent warlords of the time.
