Nyan Koi 08
November 26th, 2009 by desolo
Here we have episode 08 of Nyan Koi, where nothing really happens in terms of storyline. The progress Junpei makes with Mizuno is about as good as you’d expect the protagonist of a harem series to make, the twin-tailed twins are as twin-tailed twin as twin-tailed twins can twin-tailed twin, and then there are the cats. A bit of annoyance may start to set in, as things not terribly humorous occur simply for the attempted humor, which may or may not be humorous to you, depending, of course, on whether you find the attempted humor to be humorous or not, and some frustration may also take hold at the ineptitude of the inept protagonist, unless you view his inept ineptitude to be not very inept at all, depending, of course, on whether you find his inept ineptitude to be truly inept ineptitude. But these negative feelings that you may or may not feel, depending, of course, on whether you feel these negative feelings or not, dissipate upon learning the fact that episode 09 of Nyan Koi will be the pool episode. Meow.
Also, the reference at 19:48 is to “osakana kuwaeta doraneko”, translated as “a cat with a fish in its mouth”, the opening phrase of the them song for the long-running series Sazae-san.

FIRST!!!! No, actually, I wanted to say “nice paragraph”. I needed foot notes to keep up. Thank you for the episode..and when the fuck is Core releasing CoreAVC 2.0?
Never, of course!
I’ve been reading “it should be out in matter of days, as soon as the QA team approves it…” for a damn long time. “QA team found a new bug, and we don’t want to release anything imperfect…” Bleh.
Anyway, for those using CoreAVC 1.95, and who are now getting distorted decoding for Nyan Koi, you can either use fddshow(mt if you got it) or try DXVA. I don’t recommend the Divx h264 decoder, as it sometimes does not agree with DirectVobSub for those using VMR7.
You should not be using VMR*.
Thank you so much for this episode of Nyan-Koi (even though I’m still wondering when I’ll find the time to watch everything :p)
Talk about release spree xD
But, despite the boredom which sometimes radiates from this series, it is still one of the better ones in this season… imo.
Ditto that, AnGer.
It doesn’t seem like that great of a show, but honestly, it’s been doing a better job of keeping me amused than a lot of other series recently. I’d have to call that a win.
Thanks for the release(s), Frostii. You guys somehow manage to finish releases just as I run out of things to watch. =D
I agree with the episode description. I like the series as a whole, but this is my least favorite episode so far. It also felt like jokes were being recycled too much. Thank you, as always, for releasing this.
If the series ended with Junpei becoming increasingly disinterested in Kaede, who is (in this hypothetical ending) gradually shown to not be interested in him at all as boyfriend material, and then Junpei stopped being clueless about Kanako’s feelings toward him and fell in love with her, that would be one of my favorite plot twists ever. Not that I think there’s much of a chance of that happening at all.
We can only hope. The show is nearing completion.
Thanks again for the speedy release Frostii! You made my holiday vacation really special. Happy thanksgiving to those who celebrates it!
Fuck Yeah! Another episode!
Thank you!
