Charady’s Daily Joke 002
April 5th, 2009 by FalseDawn
Ready for another three-minute punchline? Okay, okay – I’m the first one to admit that today’s joke is one of the oldest in the book, but it’s still worth a chuckle.
After we released the first episode, I’ve been asked a couple of times why exactly Frostii have decided to pick this series up (after all, it’s a little different to our usual series) and all I’ll say is this: it’s different.

Yes, it might not be quite as “out there” as Kaiba was, but it looks like the students behind Charady are experimenting with different forms of animation. For instance, this episode is reminiscent of French animation with its stop/start qualities. There’s also a certain charm to its rough-around-the-edges stylistics that you don’t get with conventional anime series. And then, of course, there’s Charady herself…
Anyway, enough waffle. Here’s the ep.

I consider myself a well-rounded animation fan, not just an aminu fan, so I enjoy seeing atypical out-of-the-mainstream stuff like this every now and then. Thanks for releasing it, and I hope you continue.
Along those lines, I also hope you guys can continue releasing Gozensosama, but I won’t get my hopes up.
Well, as they say, a good laugh prolongs your life! Doesnt sound quite right in english.. ah well.
My biggest concern right now is whether you guys can keep up the pace with this anime… you subbed the first ep at 3rd and 2nd ep at 5th…. so when we gonna have the 365th episode???
Though I already knew the first joke and didn’t find the second one overly funny, I’m already really enjoying this show and am planning to stick around, if only for the different animation styles and the concept of the show itself.
I really hope you’ll be able to keep subbing this at a decent pace. Not expecting daily releases or anything, but stuff like this works best if it’s administered in a stable fashion. You might want to opt for a per-week batch release or something like that once you guys get behind on the raws far enough, for a more efficient subbing process.
Thanks a lot, and keep it up!
We’re actually discussing the subbing dynamics of this series at the moment, as I mentioned in the post of the first episode. So far, though, we seem to be keeping up with the episodes fine so we’ll see what happens.
Frans, the release speed depends on when we get the raws from PD. We tried having a direct provider but with no luck >_>
At least let’s hope whoever is uploading these files to PD won’t stop soon >_>
Thanks.
This series looks very promising, specially since it’s kind of an inspiration to me, because I’m an aspiring Digital Graphical Designer. So I guess the release schedule will be every 2 days, as the every 1 day in Japan… That’s fine with me.
Actually, there’s no real “schedule” for our releases. We release each and every episodes as they get ready. That means we might have 2 week blank. Or we might have a mass release some day. We will make our best effort to keep ‘em coming though!
Was this episode really a ‘joke’ ? ^^
Still, I really enjoyed both episodes, and I’m really looking forward for more episodes… I kinda like those 3 minutes long episodes ^^
I didn’t like this episode either Yue, but look forward to ep 5
